Please excuse my ignorance...

I'm wondering if anyone knows of any software you can get for mac or pc that will display incoming audio as a soundwave?

Just so I can mess around really and view the waves I'm creating with my synths. Might also be useful if I make any youtube vids on sound creation.

Any ideas anyone?

Thanks in advance.

the name of what you want is oscillograph or oscilloscope, so just google it.

Thanks Athox, I couldn't remember the name, as it's been a long time since high school science!

Max/MSP 5 has several different ways of displaying incoming audio raw, and also has a great selection of pretty much limitless controls so you can play with it afterwards - definitely check it out if you can.
