I've just figured out a way to merge two sounds onto one midi channel on my Fantom X.
It probably seems like such an obvious thing to most people on this forum but I'm rather chuffed about it.
Basically all the patches consist of 4 zones, and sometimes, not all 4 are being used to make the sound. So on a layer or split sound, if there are any patches that only use two zones, combine them, so rather than having two patches with two zones taking up two channels, combine them, so you've got one patch, 4 zones of two combined sounds, and only uses one midi channel
I am fairly new to synthesis (about 2 years) and have only had my fantom for just over a year... So don't be too mean calling me dumb incase it is a really obvious thing to do....
