Just downloaded it. As for me, there're some good and some bad things (not too many fortunatly). The chorus is wonderful, full of ....chorus haha and easy to sing along. The only thing that doesn't please me is the experimentation, jordan does at the end with the sound effects.
By the way, what synth did he used to do it??RADIAS?Otherwise, nice song to sing live and it would be a good opening song for Angels and Demons:biggrin:

I think its funny cause when I first saw Bebot in the youtube video posted, I told my friend "watch hes gonna be using his iphone on stage as an instrument!" and now he will be
you're sure it is the Bebot he's using?? couldn't it be the Continum with another different sound??
S.
Any chance that this could be uploaded somewhere else? Because, no offense, this site is absolute bull... I started downloading, first of all I get like 10 kb/s down, which I could live with, if it didn't just stop downloading from time to time. The first time I tried I got it to 3%.. the next time I got it to 6%, before it stopped. Then I figured, hey, I'm gonna improve my odds by downloading the same file many times. So I started downloading the same file like 15 times, and not ONE of them finished. I think the best attemt I had was like 11%...
Nevermind, found another place to download it, might be illigal but what the hey... filled out the info and downloaded it on the right date, so don't shoot meh.

I'm hosting it here for the time being:

Depending on my bandwidth and if my server can handle the load (Good test for me anyway) it should be available and pretty fast depending on your location :)

The Rite Of Passage off of our new album DOES feature a Bebot solo on it. It happens right after the regular (not too regular) keyboard solo..... Good ears there people!!

Ok so there's a solo with the OASYS, then we have a kinda sliding solo and then some strange effects (6min53). The bebot does the sliding solo or the strange effects or both???

I'd guess both.
For me it seems like every album they turn more metal, less progressive. All of that Mike Portnoy low voice in the background shifting between the ears stuff doesn't, to me, add anything musically to the song. And I like how the harmonies begin at the chorus, but not when it switches to a lower octave.
I'll have to really listen to is some more though, I think their singles are, for me, my least favorite part of the album. I remember not really liking Constant Motion that much, but that album as a whole was great.
Anyway, I'm just bitching 'cause I'm not a big metal fan.

It is definitely Bebot. Theoretically you could do it on the continuum, but it is the iPhone. I know this from the most reliable source :D

Really? That's the coolest part for me hands down.

Wow! Thanks for posting.
I was deeply impressed by its catchy riffs. This is a great tune. I love it!!

Too much weird drumming during the chorus. Chorus was cool besides that.
Rest of the song was too much metal for me... They're even more metal than Symphony X now... insomuch you can deem any prog METAL band more metal than others.
Also, I think DT has fallen in love with 4/4 ever since octavarium. I may be wrong though. FII was very 4/4, but they left that behind immediately...

This is the radio single man...of course it is more prone to 4/4 time. Do you think those epic songs in the 12-19 minute range that they wrote will all be in 4/4? There will be a mass amount of time signature changing in the other songs im sure

What? Who cares if it's on the radio. It has the Dream Theater name on it.
Besides, the 4/4 bit was just a side note. I don't mind 4/4, I just associate DT with some originality.

I think that for a single, it's perfect. You have a catchy riff, catchy chorus and you've got much elements about what Dream Theater is, but not too complex.
I just love the sounds effects at the end, I look forward too seeing it on stage, with the iPhone (and a video coming from the iPhone on a big screen ? :D)
The overall sound is really great and both solos are quite good. I would have loved having more fun in the solo but it's a single. It has been chosen too be catchy, which it is !
So anyway, I'm expecting the new album much more than before, the sound is great and the band seems inspired !
Thanks for this great music :)
