First things first... Welcome to the JRForum!
As one of the few guitarists that frequent this forum, and also as a great fan of JP I'll be the first to comment.
I think you are focusing your study on the 'wrong' part of JP's playing style.
IMO JP is first and foremost about MEMORABLE lines.
Don't get me wrong. He definately shreds, and is very good at it! But his solos are so much more than fast picking.
They are well thought of and usually are built around a motif.
Your take at this track doesn't really speak to me. It's a bunch of pasted together shred bits with no real underlining melody.
I suggest you take it slow... Start by learning some of the mellower JP solos. Tear them down one by one to really start getting into the core of what his playing is all about.
Only then get into the fast picking ones... and practice playing CLEANLY.
Hope you don't feel bad about my comments... Just trying to lay it straight on you and help you out. After all, you did put it up on a forum and asked for feedback.
Once again, welcome.
Take care and keep on studying one of the greats!
Thiago.

I too am a guitarist and a big fan of JP's playing and think Thiago summed this up very well (and tactfully I might add!). I thought you played very well there and some nice technique but as Thiago said, JP is a very melodic player with impeccible phrasing who is very motif based and uses speed (like any good musician) as a vechicle to add tension and release, he does'nt play at just one speed (balls out! LOL). So with that in mind and incorporating the more melodic lines of JP's style, I think you'll nail JP's style yourself and add to your own voice.
But as I said, still very good work.
Justin.
