What's this? Yet another thread with a relative synth newb asking for help deciding on his first axe? Yep, sure is. :D

Alrighty, so I've been doing some research for the past couple of months (largely consisting of lurking around these boards, lol) trying to decide on a good entry-level (around the $1000 price mark) synth to start out with. I know I'd like 88 keys weighted action, so that eliminates quite a bit of the playing field. I was pretty much decided on the QS until a couple days ago when I learned about the PC1X. Even though its primary purpose is to work as a controller, from what I've read (and heard) its stock patches sound great. I'd only be worried about the number of usable lead patches (not that I'm expecting to find Jordan's monster lead in any board in my price range, lol). The apparant expandibility of the PC1X doesn't hurt, either, with a ribbon controller and the classic keys expansion due out. So, right now, I'm kind of torn between these two boards.

Any opinions?

Thanks! :D
