Here are some of the videos that I was able to capture throughout the weekend. Sadly, the cam battery died shortly after the compositional round of the master class, so I wasn't able to get any of the solo and improvisational folks on it. I also did not capture the comments from Jordan after each performance.

It was great to meet all of you, especially Frank Lucas, Mario (King_Elessar), ringwraith (man, I missed you at dinner!), bakerman, and others.

Warning: Shoddy Camera Work and Editing Ahead. :P

If you're having trouble getting these videos to play, you need to install the DivX 5 (http://www.divx.com/) codec. The Basic version is completely free and works on both PC and Mac. If you plan on viewing this stuff more than once, do the Right click and Save As thing to save me some bandwidth costs. Thanks. :)

Thank you very much for the videos!

So nice to see you guys in action, and not to forget........ at the dinner table! I know that you must have had a great time, and I'm sad ( :( ) for not being there... but at the same time... VERY HAPPY, for all of you! :D

I hope something similiar will take place in the future, and then maybe not so far away from Sweden....

What about the concert being filmed for a DVD-release? Any details?

They each performed original compositions. I have no idea of the names of the songs.

Fixed the link for the last video, too. :)

I know Frank's was called "And She Danced Again" and that Doug's was supposedly called "The Doug Epic"...that's all I know...hope it helps.

Too bad you didn't keep Doug's commentary when JR was like "yea you seemed to have many little themes that you start randomly branching off in and it didn't make any sense" and Doug responds "well...hence the Dream Theater influence"...and to that JR was like "well Dream Theater at leasts goes all the way...it was like you were branching out into many little roads and taking a step and then jumping back into the main theme and kind of edging your way around it...dream theater just takes the step and goes.." It was pretty funny, guess you had to be there.

"I claim the 5-minute rule!!" lol

I'm still hummimg Frank's song.

Favorite Jordan quote...
"Rock on!...or new-age on!...or whatever...!"

I think Theguywedon'tknow is Joslin from Texas, bandmember with Doug "Superman" on this board. They taped their interview with Jordan at dinner. Great guys.

thanks for posting the vids!

I will post pics soon. Most didn't come out too well. Check my homepage.

Yes,

I wrote it a about 4 a.m. one day, at my Kurzweil after having
a dream of an Irish girl doing a little step dancing on a beach
by the ocean. The strong melody is a theme that I woke up
remembering and I was very insistent on writing
it down immediately so I wouldn't forget. Hence the title,
"And She Danced Again"

If you liked it, maybe you'd like to download a sample
of my band playing it on the audio sample portion of my
web site.

I could have played it much better on Sunday but I did not
have a proper warmup...so there you go.

Hi,
It's Steve. I finally joined the forum today. Anyway I loved the footage. I spent a good portion of the day downloading it. I love the divx program too by the way. Anyway, thanks for filming it and doing all the work to put it up on here. It was great to be able to show so many people who couldn't make it. It was an unforgettable weekend and I just wanna thank everyone for being so cool. You were all as friendly as you are gifted. I'll be on here a lot and if anyone wants to email me my addy is in my pro too. It was great to get so inspired. I wrote a ton of notes during the clinic. I'd like to echo what was said before in that Doug was hysterically funny when he was talking about the dream theater influence on his piece. I think everyone's piece was memorable for different reasons and it was so great to see everyone's unique take on the instrument.

Hey Scrap!
Thank you so much for posting these vids. It's so cool to finally see and hear some of you in action and wow... what a talent! I feel sad that I couldn't be there, but when seeing these vids it feels as if I'm sitting just there enjoying your works! :D Thanx again for sharing!

But I think you somehow missed the point when you didn't include Jordan's comments post performance.

I think you are missing the point of me intentionally removing them.

The master class was not a free event. :P

Yea, I agree with Scrap, it's one thing to film the whole class for yourself and watch it like that, but as soon as he or someone else posts Jordan's part, the part we paid for...it's pointless...we might as well then have someone go in tot he class, everyone stays home, and he uploads the video...besides, it wasn't information you can't find on the OC.

yeah, i agree. keyboard wizardry would be a good thing to buy becasue i noticed that some of the tips he was giving at the class and at dinner even, was the same advice he gave on the video. which is good because we can tell he is consistent with his advice. but i did learn a deal more by going to this class.

Woooow... chill!
If I could have attended the event, I would, and I would pay for it!
I only thought it would have been nice to hear what Jordan thought of the performances, that's all!

Greetings all ! Fortunately or unfortunately, however you look at it, being an "in-demand entertainment pianist" is very time-consuming LOL. Thus, a few of you have tried to get a hold of me and my apologies for not living 24/7 on this forum, which, you just must trust me when I say I really wish I could. This site is where the most talented AND interesting group of musicians dwell. Well I guess I'll just kinda pop in with guest appearances. Anyone is free to email at axlhog@hotmail and I'm pretty good at responding.

Awesome to see myself and the others playing on the video here, thanks man, that's a great service to us. I have mixed feelings about including the commentary, I agree it's something special not to be "whored" out to the public but at the same time there is much valuable info that even I, who DID pay for the experience, would really want to have access to again. I think it should ultimately be Jordan's (or any artist's) decision, in case there is footage of it somewhere.

BTW, the Doug Epic has a name and it is called "Flow." As any perfectionist musican would comment, I could have done a much better job at conveying all that that piece has to offer, but, well, you know, .....
Ye Olde Cursed Five Minute Rule

I said this to most of you, but in case you didn't meet me or whatnot, I am currently looking for my "guitarherosoulmateofthefutureperson", so I suppose exposing "Flow" to any [really good] guitarists you know, and thusly generating a reaction to me, would not be what one would call a bad thing.

Nice job again to all who played, don't hesitate to email!

See all you kids next time.

Hi,

I know i'm really late on this but I wasn't able to go to the show to see your performances first hand and I have been using a 56k dialup connection for a long time. However, i've recently upgraded to broadband (and therefore can download the 17mb~ videos quickly now) and was wondering if it would be possible for the videos of your performances to be uploaded again so that I could view them please.

It's no worry if the videos cannot be hosted again for a short while, I'm just interested in seeing them :)

Sorry guys. The size of the videos and the amount of data transferred (about 15GB) nearly put my provider over their cap (I share an OpenBSD box with about 20 other high-traffic users), so these videos won't be up again in the forseeable future. :(

I can host them on my website, but I first need to get them somewhere....

Well by using that logic, why would anyone go to see Dream Theater when they can just buy the budakon dvd? Im sure for a lot of people that went, a good reason you did was to see jordan rudess in person as well as all these other great musicians, performing and talking shop. I really doubt anyone would not have went if they knew it would be filmed and made available somehow. With that said, those of us who didnt/couldnt go dont have a RIGHT to view that stuff, so its cool.
