hi, since a couple of months ago i started to have a problem with i don't know if it is the midi cable (in-out and joystick) or the soundcard: the problem is that when i use any software i play my keyboard for notation or other purposes and most of the times it plays different notes than the ones i'm playing (i play a C and in the computer sounds an A, for example) and sometimes it plays notes by itself, very low notes that normally my keyboard doesn't reach 'cause it's a 61key synth, and when i use my pitch bend or modulation wheels they change the patch, so i'm really screwed 'cause i can't transcribe anything, and i can't use my VSTi, so if anyone knows how to fix this, please help me, 'cause this is a major problem for me...

thanks a lot

Hey, this is really a problem I've never heard of before. Actually I don't think it's the cable, maybe it helps to contact the support center of the firm which produces your soudcard.
I don't know which synth you got, but maybe you've changed something in it...

T'would be my guess as well. Call Tech Support for both the program and the keyboard (program first, keyboard second).

OK, nevertheless I don't think it's your cable. Should be the soundcard then. I guess it's the software and not the hardware. You could try to reinstall the drivers for example.

if you have an "on-board" sound card, check into your BIOS the appropriate settings and change the use of this port from Joystick to MPU-401

If the problem is in pitch, check the pitch setting in the X5D as well as in the hosts/vsts/programs. I've never heard of a midi cable that sends wrong pitches if broken. If the soundcard is an internal crap, get a new one :D.
