Hey...
I want to buy a new 88 keys keyboard and I had always been interested in the Kurzweil K2600 X Workstation.
As you know it offers great sounds and various possibilites to develop a unique professional style – and that’s what I’m looking for: Not just an expensive toy but a musical instrument in order to compose "serious" music.
However, I wondered if this synthesizer isn’t “out-dated” by now (especially concerning the price-performance ratio – it’s still about 3000€) and searched for an acceptable alternative. I came across the Korg M3-88 X-panded Workstation which features certain innovations distilled from the OASYS like KARMA as well as some other cool technologies such as the X-Y touch display control (but on the other hand the ribbon is quite small :P).
The problem is, from what I read and saw on Youtube, I believe that they put too many efforts in the development of generated backing sequences (which I don’t need for I am playing in a band) at the expense of those particular sounds that are important to me (natural piano or strings).
I am an advanced classical piano player but I actually don’t know much about keyboards so I need some help here ;)
Now that’s my question: Korg or Kurzweil… hope you can help me out :)
