i had a GREAT time... and I wasn't the only female there.... there were three others! *gasp*
i loved meeting people and seeing people i've not seen in a long time.
cory (the infamous scrap, who made it though the evening unharmed :P) and i have just been chatting the night away with frank lucas... like seriously. it is currently 4:52 am.. and we're all meeting for FREE breakfast at 9:45.
we also kept up Roberto (one of the keyfest players) late by dragging him to see a movie... i hope he doesn't fall asleep while playing tomorrow! (If he does, it is totally our faults!)
great fun.. and even more fun tomorrow.... if i can stay awake for it. ;)
ahh I met you!! haha that was awesome.
This whole evening was so cool, especially sitting in front of the man and just eating and chatting about whatever people came up with. I think the hightlight of the evening was whne he told me he liked my shirt ;)
See ya tomorrow at the keyfest.
Hey!
It was great meeting mostly everyone that was there. Somehow, Ael, our paths never crossed to talk, but you were at the other table. Had a great conversation with Frank and Bert and later Jordan and Danielle.
The wife and I had a great time.

Hey,
I just got into Chicago from NY a couple of hours ago and
am grinning from ear to ear.
This was such a fun weekend, hanging out with "my other family"
I hadn't laughed so hard as I did last night at the gathering...sharing quips and other clever insight regarding much to do about nothing with the great
Bert Baldwin and the rest of the usual suspects - Ryan, Chris,
Anthony and Anthony. A heated debate broke out I guess on
Thursday at dinner among the guys when Chris asked if anyone had
seen Farenheit 9/11... a slight 20 second pause followed and then
an intense political debate rivaling anything you'd see on the O'Reilly
factor ensued. It somehow carried over into last night's dinner.
It was one of the funniest highlights of the evening.
Michelle, Cory and Roberto were such a blast to hang with after the
get together. I mean, who actually goes out to the movies at one
o'clock in the morning anymore?
It's amazing I even got to sleep at all last night. (Was it really five in the morning!?)
Today was the icing on the weekend cake. Having the awesome,
badass keyboardists from the forum show their stuff was not only
educational but highly entertaining. (Anyone wanna put out a DVD
of THAT?) 8)
Getting advice firsthand from the man himself on all our compositions,
synth lead techniques and improvisations is something I, as well as
the rest of the performers, are most appreciative of and a moment we
will always cherish.
As far as JR's performance, unfortunately I was unable to stay for
the concert as I had to rush back to Chicago on the last available
flight which conflicted. An early Monday morning at work beckons.
He did perform a teaser before the master class...a new tune off
the new album Rhythm of Time. How else could I describe it but
brilliant. He used the new Triton Extreme for all his keyboard
sounds played against a background of bass, drums and guitar.
I don't think too many people will be complaining too much that
he's made the switch over from Kurz. It sounded amazing.
This was such a memorable weekend.
I say we make this an annual event. What say you, dudes and
dudettes?
