Can the "boss FS 5L" switch through my favorite programs on my Korg X50?

i want this so i can switch through programs with my feet during a gig. But i'm not sure if it works with a korg x50. I also have no idea how to put the programs into the switch (in order) so that i can go from my first program in a show to the last.

Yes the Boss FS-5U, will do the job. But keep in mind that it is not the pedal itself that changes the patches. The pedal just sends a signal to your board, which reads that signal and does whatever it is programed to do.

So you might want to consider to use a pedal you have laying around, but which you don't use. (A sustain pedal for instance)

I have the Boss FS-5U because I like the look of it, and that it feels very solid. As it is said before, a pedal is a pedal.

And of course our dear Jordan has a lot of FS-5U on his feet. Of course any pedal will suit but as liquidkey said it only send a message, you have to configure it in your X-50 and it may be very easy.
Just set your pedal as a program change and then you have to organize your preset the way you want them to appear live and you're ready.

It quite easy: connect the pedal to the 'assignable switch' jack and go to the 'Foot' page in global menu. Then set the assignable switch to 'select programs or combinations (up / down)'. I'd suggest 'up'. Then safe your combinations in the order you'll need on the gig, starting from the lowest, going to the highest, and there you go. (I don't have a X50, just looked at the operation guide on page 88)

Hi everyone, i'n new!

I have an X50 too and i tried to switch between programs and combination with a sustain pedal (kurweil kp2). I can switch between progs and combis... but when i switch between combis, there's an annoying silence and i lose some notes because of it (between programs this silence is almost innaudible).

A friend (who also uses a normal sustain pedal as footswitch) told me he has the exactly same problem with his Korg tr-76.

Is this because of the sustain pedal? i mean, i know the switch just sends a message to the keyboard but maybe some models like the Boss FS5U or maybe a korg ps1 (my manual recommends me that one) can erase this silence.

Please help me... because i refuse to live with that silent thing forever!

Thanks!

Unfortunately, no pedals can erase this gap between the sounds. Korg triton, korg tr, korg x50 and even Rudess with his korg Oasys has this problem.

The only solution is to buy a synth/keyboard that does not have this silence while switching sounds :frown:

Could someone please tell me the settings for changing programs/setups at Kurzweil 2600x(with footswitch)?
Will it work with a normal sustain pedal?

It works with normal sustain pedals.

You must understand that pedal programming is by setup

What i did (i've got a pc3) is copy the default setup and added setup (down) and program increment (up) on Pedal 3.
In master (or midi i do not remember by heart) mode is set this new setup as the default (internal voices one). And save your master table.
When i create a new setup i copy that one too (which has other parameters I modified for default.
In program mode the program will use the default setup settings

On a K2600X it's quite easy to do. Assign a foot switch to CC#96 DataInc, on value to 128, off value to none, entry value to none ... that's it. For programs you have to do it within the controll setup (usually setup 97), for setups you have to do this in every setup. BUT just for one zone, otherwise it will do the increment one step for every zone, it's programmed in. Two zones > two setups up, three zones > three setups up and so on.
