Is this thing useful in anyways? I'm kinda dissapointed that m3 has a ribbon vs fantom g having nothing but a d beam, and for what I saw, it's pretty useless. Anyone can tell me if this thing can be used for anything that's not making that stupid noise.

I kinda see where you're coming from. one thing that bugs me about it is where its placed on the keyboards. I have a fantom X with a SH201 above it on a two tier stand. and the sh201 is in the way of the fantoms dbeam.
But you can use it to trigger samples that are assigned to the drum pads. and you can use it to change things like cutoff freq so you can bring in harmonics and various other things.
I do wish it was more freely assignable though. Cause you can assign the mod lever to practically anything, whereas the dbeam is somewhat limited. but I wouldnt say completely useless.

D-beam is just a show off...
How ever, you can assign it to anything, just like you would do it with mod lever.... so it's not limited in that way.
What really bugs me, is that Fantom actually has a basic virtual analog sound engine! (solo synth), but it's completely useless... you can't store patches, route to MFXs and play it with keys.
How ever, if you are looking for raw material (waveforms for Fantom sound engine), this thing can be very useful.

And I've seen you can use the touch screen on the M3 as a mod source...

D-Beam needs a lazer on your palm so you can see it & take away that guess work. Although I'm aware there is a tiny little level meter on the LCD, trying to find that in a hurry.
