Hello! This isn't exactly a request for patch exchange, but I have a question.

I will play synth in a norwegian adaption of The Wiz in a few months, and my main task is to be the "effects guy".

The first orchestral rehersal is in a few days, and I want to be prepared.
I haven't got any further instructions, so I don't know to much about the sounds.

But what do kind of patches do you guys think I should bring to my first rehersal? Is it like car crashes and laser guns or is it more like atmospheric pads? I hope someone have any suggestions! (I know at least one wizard here at the forum who is into The Wiz;) )

I think this will be awesome, and I hope I can get to use some funky sounds in these gigs.

I don't know what kind of synth you have, but I should go for effects, ambient and soundscapes, maybe spectrasonics athmosphere,(or omnisphere) or maybe Native instruments absynth would be a good choice to use, you could use the synth to control this wonderfull vst's or use samples?

I think things like pad's would be usefull, I wouldn't use the standard car crash but maybe you can alter it into something entirely different. Maybe evolving sounds, or arpeggiations would be cool.

Being the effects guy you are probably the most free musician in the entire orchestra, so look around for some vst's, effects, check site's like progsounds and ofcourse check sites regarding the synth's you use for sounds.
