Have you checked it (http://www.waldorfmusic.de/en/products/blofeld-keyboard) out?

I know this news is almost a month old, but there has been no discussion here on it.

I personally think that waldorf are now competing more directly against the likes of the Nord Wave and V-synth, but we“ll have yet to see if its sample mangling is truly great. Before, I thought the Blofeld was truly one of the best VAs of this gen, now this makes it even better, and aparently will be at half the price of the others.

Just hope that they decide to put a vocoder on it, and, for me at least, if wont have any competitors.

The only "bad" thing is that, again, there aren“t enough knobs! but well, most ppl wont tweak more than four parameters at a time. Hope they add more knobs, so this blofeld version would be some kind of deluxe version.

Just sharing my thoughts,
Gus

More knobs = More money.

So, for me, the design is great.

60MB sample memory + really high quality VA + wavetables and great looks, this is probably my favorite release of the year, along with Fantom G.

After checking Novamusik they seem to go for around US$1600, about 1000 less than the Nord Wave.

That's pretty cool - I can see that this will have quite a large market for electro bands who have up till now gigged with something like the nord Lead. Hopefully it isn't massively more expensive than the sound module on its own - the addition of two wheels and some keys shouldn't add more than £150. It'll be interesting to see if this takes off because of Blofeld's 'classic' name.

Actually it is supposed to retail at 1600 usd, which is much more. But keep in mind that it is not only a keyboard upgrade, but it also mangles samples, which the original modules doesnt.

BTW I also think this is going to be one of the best products of the year (certainly better than the M50).
