Can't really make a specific order except that Dream Theater, Pain of Salvation and Blind Guardian are tied for my first place, and Liquid Tension Experiment transcends everything I have ever heard. I'm also looking very foward to what Andromeda will present us in the future. Their "Two is one" record is my favourite "recent" release and I think everyone should check them out.

Not really - I love JR's work with LTE, I love the Evening With... Album, I love Feeding the Wheel and Listen, I'm looking forward to Rhythm of Time with great anticipation and expectation, and doubt I'll be disappointed with it. I further consider Jordan to be contributing the best musical ideas to Dream Theater right now, of any of their members. But I think that for whatever reason, the three albums they have made since 1999 - JR or no JR - simply aren't up to the quality of their previous work. There's no point in hijacking this thread - my thoughts are well documented - at great length - in another thread:
http://jordanrudess.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?t=1965&sid=7260f735f7622b92633f4f47c 6cc9991%22
So no - there's no anti-Jordan bias in my post; if anything, he's the principal reason why DT are still at ALL interesting to me right now.

IN order. There must be a distinction between the BEST bands that ever lived (Queen and DT), and one's personal favorites. It should really be 2 distinct threads. For now, those are my personal babies. I could go nuts listing more prog bands I love, but emotional aesthetics must carry a proper amount of weight.

Kid Ory´s creole jazz band (I just love that particular style a lot)
Chick Corea Elektric Band
Angra (I´m still in awe of their gig at last year´s Sweden Rock festival)
