As with a lot of keyboardists (and guitarists), my pinky is my weakest link. And I'm sick of that. My thumb, index, middle, and ring fingers have pretty decent dexterity. But my pinky is constantly holding me back. I want to be able to trill with it, smoothly hit black keys with it, and generally not have it floating around when it's not in use, like when a "fruitier" individual holds a glass.
What can I do? I've tried just trilling for an hour straight, steadily increasing the speed on my metronome. That did nothing. I do finger independence exercises quite regularly, and they work great for my other 3 fingers and thumb, but my pinky is always messing up. The rather stiff keybed on my Juno-G probably isn't helping things, but I don't want to be one of those people who blame their equipment for their own shortcomings.
Help.
