At first a "by-the-way-question": Is software actually gear?!
As for my real question:
If I have recording something in audio (wave) format and it was a unsuccessful attempt, I delete the track by pressing the "del" button on my keyboard. Then it disappears and everything seems to be ok. But because of the "undo" function of Cubase, the track is still saved in the folder of the project and it would never be deleted by Cubase. So, if I record a solo, it takes maybe 20 tries, the solo is 20 seconds long. 20 seconds in wave format are 2 MB. If I make 20 tries, 40MB are saved automatically in my project folder, although I need only 2 of them. In a bigger "full band" project, a folder can become bigger than 1GB, although the song is only 3 or minutes long.
Who knows what I can do against that?
If I simply delete the files I don't need manually in the folder, Cubase would say that it didn't find "all the tracks I deleted".
I use Cubase SX 2.0 and work on the Windows (XP) platform.
I'd be glad if someone could help me out there. I have enough of space left, but in my opinion, this effect is more annoying than helpful when you cannot delete the tracks you wouldn't need anymore insode Cubase.
Thanks for your support!
Jan.
