Hey all! After the last two successful forum games, I've decided to make things a little fun around here and, at the same time, give everyone a chance to show off their shredding skills. Don't worry, I'll take care of the mixing afterwards.

This is not a contest, per sČ. This is just to see what people sound like together shredding to one of the greatest instrumentals ever created. Hurry though, only the first eight people to reply will get a chance to shred!! All you have to do is follow this link to download a loop:

Then, follow these instructions:

1. Go into Cubase, Logic, or any DAW.
2. Open a new project.
3. Set the tempo to 125 BPM.
4. Import the loop (it's a wav file, which I'm sure all DAWs support).
5. Shred along to the loop for 8 bars AND NO MORE than 8 bars.
6. Once you've got that recorded, delete the loop you downloaded so that you are left with just your lead sound.
7. Export the project as a wav file, and post it on any web hosting service so that I can download it and mix everyone's!!

Good so far? Don't worry if you're not one of the first eight, the next 8 can get this one:

Click here to download! (http://jenius92000.x10hosting.com/loop2.wav) (Careful though, this is eight bars of 5/4!)

Just follow the same instructions as above!

This is done on a first come, first serve basis, so get going!

Good luck,

jenius_92000.

Cool idea, man!

So here is my take:

For some reason I couldnīt get it on my Putfile account, so I had to use another host this time. Should work though.

Nice solo Olibeau btw!

Hey Oli,

I am using the Korg M3 with the Radias expansion board.

The lead actually uses the Radiasī Saw and Pulse waveforms.

Glad you like it

Cheers!

Hey Jenius,

This sounds interesting so I've had a bash at it as well. Link below.
Not entirely a new concept as we jam like this all the time over at the JP forum and other guitar sites I go to (I'm also a budding guitarist). Even laid down a keyboard solo over at the JP site last month which was fun. Good to see a jam here again as this used to be common place at Jordan's forum many moons ago but sadly doesn't happen much.

Cheers ... :)

I should point out that only 8 more people get to jam on the second loop. Otherwise I could end up mixing things forever (!)

Oh come on guys, keep it coming!! Just 5 people participating (and 1 willing)?

I think it is just a great and fun idea to do this kind of forum jamming, it would be a shame if the JR forum could not complete one...
