Does anyone know of any good ethnic vst instruments/samples? I'm specifically looking for Middle Eastern stuff, but I don't have the money to get things like Quantum Leap's RA. Freeware would be good, but nothing costly
Thanks in advance

Hi Gylfih... How're you? I've got 2 links. I haven't tried, but I hope it could help you...

nah, sorry, I've looked at those already. I want something like RA, or MOTUs Ethno Instruments, just without the price. It's a hard search to find cheap, quality VSTs...
Dude I love MOTU's ethno, some day I'll have to buy it!
I think it's worth the money, but if you're looking only for free VSTs I'm useless here

Free is preferable, but anything up to about £75 is fine. I am but a poor(ish) student

DSK Asian DreamZ isn't bad for a free VST, but only features 7 instruments:
-Pipa
-Pipa tremolo
-Luan
-Guzhen
-Erhu
-Ban di
-Percussion kit

That's quite a good one, but it's more oriental:frown:
Middle Eastern (ouds/vocals), I'm also now after Celtic (pennywhistles/violas) and Indian. MOTU Ethno Instruments would be best but it's far too expensive for me...
oh, and Tiko, MOTU is definately worth the money, I just don't have the money LOL

The Fusion has an ethnic Hollow Sun pack ;)
Bastard:mad:. You know I can't afford that bloody thing. Grrr.. If I had the money to get a Fusion I would, but I'd be better getting a controller methinks. Maybe I should just save for another 3/4 of a year and get the MOTU stuff:rolleyes:. I know JR has it, cos he did that series of demos on it (on youtube)...
Actually, I've just had a look at the Hollow Sun ethnic stuff, but it's all Buddhist percussion... The Asian Dreamz thing does seem quite good. What are everyones thoughts on the Knagalis set?
