In your experience, what is the best software piano available? Of course they all say they are the best, but which one really has all of the bells and whistles?

Okay, the topic is about plugins. But I think the real thing is the only thing! I don't deny that there are really great sounding plugins out there and it's really amazing what can be done with software technology. But it's not only the sound but also the feel. The huge expressiveness of a real grand piano can't be covered 127 Velocity steps. There are so many different tones in a Piano that you can get with different techniques of playing even at the same velocity level.
I believe you play really different with the feel of a real instrument under your fingers (and THAT'S what makes the difference even to the greatest sounding Plugin)
Of course not everybody can efford to put a Steinway Grand into his living room (I can't)... So it's great to have a cheap and easy alternative in Plugins and Samples.
But in a recording situation I would prefer micing my upright Piano even to a better sounding Plugin (If I had to use one I would choose "The Grand") just for the expressiveness.

Oh, and there's an interesting Sample CD "Total Piano", offering a complete Grand Piano sample set and additional samples of that Grand treated with stones, coins, modified hammers etc.

I like the Bosendorfer, there is a software version from that too. But I'll have to wait until Ivory comes out for windows.

I'm using steinberg "the grand" at the moment. But you can sign me up on the "awaiting for the release of ivory's pc version" list. :P
