Abridged songs!

For the second time last night I heard Take the Time minus (IMHO) the best part: the second verse. This time I knew to expect it, but the first time I heard it I was completely disappointed, I just sat down. The same thing happened a few years ago with Voices. It kills me every time.

Now I understand they cut these, and certain other verses because James has trouble singing them (even though his voice is soudning much better than it did a few years ago), but I would much rather he just does a lower vocal melody. The second verse of Voices on the Metropolis DVD was fine...much better than cutting out the whole verse.

Does anyone agree with me on this? Stop abridging the songs!

I agree with you. I always want to listen to the original versions of the songs on a live show.
All members of DT don't necessarily want to abridge the songs. At least JP seems to dislike it. The reason for dislike is the same as ours.

You might want to also consider that they're playing an hour and a half instead of 3, and so abridging songs might make it able to include more...

Also, I was under the impression that James' voice has been fully back for a good long while now, so I'd be surprised if that was the reason for it...

not a good long while, only recently, within the last few years has he neared full recovery.
