Last friday I had a gig and before the gig I loaded all the samples I needed into my K2500.
After that I loaded all the setups I needed so I was ready to rock.
For some reason I used the Data wheel to skip like 40 setups and then something happened what I can describe as a "crash".
I noticed that all my sounds sounded like they had a mega-mega-reverb on them which increased the sound level enormously.
All the setups I used had the same problem.
So I made a hard-reset and loaded everything in again and I had the same problem after a few songs again.
Anyone had this problem before?
Any suggestions to find out what the problem is?
Thanks,
Jeroen

Uhhh... AFTER a hard reset?? I wonder if there's something loading that's actually corrupted data?
What about doing a diagnostic? *When you start the kurzweil, press the exit button I think and that takes you into the 25/2600 loader. From there you can run diagnostics to see what's working and what's not, it'd at least help detirmine if it's software or hardware*
Also, you might try get someone else to load your sounds and see if it does it for them as well ;)
hope this helps!
Check all parameters of KDFX, even though I think they should also be set back in a hard reset. Perhaps the effects-mode is set to "manual" or something like that.

Yep, I think you have some data corrupted.........
After loading, check the midi and master pages. See if all settings are o.k.
The old OS versions came wit h a small program called "Resetmaster.k25"
try to find that, load it, and save it with your file. It helped me once.

Ps The other thing I can think of is a bad installation of KDFX.
I saw this problem last year in Italy with a K2600

Update:
At home I did a hard reset.
Played through the fabric setups, played around with the datawheel and.....again this mega-mega reverb.
I switched from the mix-output to the output A and everything was back to normal.
Switched back to mix-output and it had the mega-mega reverb.
Maybe my mix-output has died on me????
Any reactions?

just sounds like there's the reverb depth on the mix outs is what's causing it - did you edit the effects page to see what the routing is of effects? Did you also check the B, C, and D outs to see if they have reverb on any of those either?
Just a thought.

It could be the Digitech chip of your K2500 and has nothing to do with your KDFX, especially if it's coming out of the A outputs, which I believe are always dry. Check the effects page and see what the Digitech settings are. There could be something that's just setting it to 100% wet within your saved file that you are loading. Or the chip itself could be freaking out.

OK, next problem:
I'm now using output A instead of the mix Output.
But when using output A my volume slider doesn't respond at all.
Is there a way to program Output A so I can use the volume slider?

unfortunatly, no - the mix out and the headphone outs are the only outs that respond to volume control... Unless you had an external volume knob *like JR does*

What you do instead is to assign one of your other MIDI sliders to MIDI CC# 7 (Volume) and use that as your volume slider instead. You'll have to do this for all of your zones in all of your Setups, and if you have Setups where your different Zones have preset volumes and you want to preserve their balances, you might want to use MIDI CC# 11 (Expression) instead. You will be able to change the volume, but Expression keeps the relative volume balances the same.

Last night Nolan and me installed a new OS (5.01) and the problem still was there.
When I switch setups fast using the datawheel the problems start.
I then have this mega-reverb coming out of the mix output.
So I switch cables from my mix output to output A and I have a normal sound.
When I use my headphone output I have a normal sound too but also this output had some (same problems) when playing with the datawheel but far less problems than the mix output.
Any idea what to try next?
Nolan thinks it's in the KDFX. Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Jeroen

Something on your Digitech chip is probably freaking out. If it's doing it when you move the datawheel really fast..... then don't move the datawheel really fast.

But also without using the datawheel the setups will crash from now and then, quite often to be precise...
