Hello, all, I know that there are programs out there that could record AND write in notation what Im playing on my keyboard, if the keyboard is connected...
Does anyone know any program that can do this?
I have guitar pro 5, maybe I can with that?

thanks in advance

Well you can't record with guitar pro, but you certainly can write.
Just get a second program for recording, there's a bunch to choose from. Not long ago the forum had a poll about what's "best", so you should go read that thread. Don't think there's any decent software (if any at all) that will do both.

Yes, very good recording software rarely has the opportunity to make notations - forget professional notation, like you would encounter in a commercial song book.

Because making a good sheet music is very complicated process.

I know Finale is a good one.

But I know Sebelius is way better!

Yeah, i'd go with Sibelius, too.

I suppose you by recording mean recording the midi signals and convert them to sheet music? Every major sheetmusic program should have good opportunities for doing so. I have used both Finale and Sibelius for many years, and I know a lot of their possibilities. I would without any doubt recomend Sibelius. It's great! It also works quite good in cooperation with ProTools, which is brilliant.

My teacher at school always tells me how good the notation possibilities are in Logic, so I'll guess it would be worth checking out.

Good luck!

I use both Finale and Sibelius, but I prefer Sibelius for notation.

I've heard that Cubase does notation, but I've never tried it.

Logic can actually both record and write notation. But it's for mac only.

For easy and free windows recording I suggest Reaper. There's a thread about that too.
