Ok well I got Sonic Cell some time ago and I am trying to connect it to my korg to play it using midi from Korg I have a few problems:
1) everytime I switch sounds in Korg the programs changes in sonic cell to GM programs which is bad, What I would like the best is that everytime the "next program" or a number of a combi is dialed in my korg the same performance number in my roland would be loaded. (It would be great even if the "next program" button would load next performance on sonic cell too).
If this is not possible I would at least like that nothing would happen to sonic cell while switching sounds on my korg.
2) I have issue with my expression pedal which is some cheaper yamaha. First of all it seems to have a mono head which is concerning me... I can use it as a sustain but I just can't seem to get it work to control cutoff for example.
A other problem is that when I change the cutoff values on korg and load next program in roland, the cutoff value is still there even though it should not be.
thanks :)

the expression pedal wont work on your keyboards... it has to be a stereo cable for those. i dont know how yamaha does things, but using a mono cable sounds like something is wrong. are you sure the cable is the original?

Yes I am sure it's oringinal and you can't change or maybe you can but I doubt it. I belive the pedal is FC-3 or something like that (it is the cheapest yammy "volume pedal" that there is, cost was 30€).
And yes the problem is a midi problem, can I somehow change how the sonic cell picks the messages or something?

You have two types of pedals:
- Sustain/switch pedals. With a mono connector, they can send 2 signals: on and off. These are used for sustaining and in JR's case, program switches.
- Expression pedals, with a stereo connector, they can send a continuous signal ranging from 0 to 100%. These are used to control various parameters with a specific range like filter cutoff, wah-wah and volume.
The FC3 (http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/FC3/) is not a volume pedal but a sustain pedal from the first class. For example the FC7 (http://indiagiftsportal.giftsdb.com/images/proimages/giftsm635.jpg) offers the functionality you are looking for.

Yeah IT IS a expression pedal... it even says it is volume pedal. and it fuctions like expression pedal (ie. it is clearly not on/off type of damper Or switch pedal). It just has mono head which is just strange. Anyway I am going to our reharsal place today and look a bit into it :).
And yes you are right the pedal is not FC-3 it must be the FC-7.
The first issue is more seourious anyways, cause I want to play both of the synths at the same time. How do you manage your racks with only one keyboard midi controller?

Regarding program changes.....set the Sonic Cell to a midi channel other than it's default which is 1. In Combi modi on the Korg you'll need to know the MSB and LSB numbers for the Sonic Cell which should be something like MSB = 84 and LSB = 0 (which on my Roland gear is user patches, followed bu the patch number. Let's say I want a synth patch in my Fantom which is User patch #1. I set the MSB to 84 and the LSB to 0 and the patch to 1 (In the Korg). You'll find the MSB and LSB in the Roland manual in the Midi appendix section.....I run three rack devices (Motif, XV5050, Proteus) all controlled from a Fantom this way as well as a laptop and soft synths, all controlled from a pedal that advances up through my performances one at a time. I set each to a different midi channel and with MSB and LSB I can control everything....
