Hi people!!!!
I'm new here...but I have followed the discussion for some time...
You fellows are great!
Back to the question...
I'm about to buy my first synth(til today I used an arranger:-S)
and I have a problem:
at my town's instruments dealer(in Verona), I find myself in front of:
-new Triton LE61(1200euros)
-used Trinity/TrinityV3(bout 1200euros)
what should I do?
the matter is mainly about the working conditions of the Trinity:
how to know if it properly works?
thanx for any suggestion....:-)

I would go for the Trinity V3, because it includes the MOSS boards. Also, it has a better build quality than the LE and can use up to 8 insert effects, the LE only has one. And you have a touch display!

You should look if all keys, buttons and the disk drive work.

thanx!I'll check out theese things.but...forgive my noobness....
an insert effect is an effect applied to the sound, without using the mod wheel, just on the sound as it exits pressing the keys, right?

Not exactly. Any effect is something that the sound goes THROUGH to change how it sounds...
Wah is an effect. You can use the joystick to edit the parameters in real time to alter the sound, which is the whole purpose of the effect. Things like delay actually START when you press a key, but generally you only hear the results when you let go *but the effects are still there*

Anyway, just something to keep in mind:)

*I'd also go for the V3. It's got much more going for it for the price you'd pay in comparison to the LE. *

I'd go for Le (because I own an Le and Trinity too, and I think there's still a big gap).
The base samples are better.
The sampling unit is much more versatile.
Don't be fooled by the number. 8 FX on trinity means a strange game of "complexity rating" that reduces you to a lower quality of result. In the LE fxs there are "mono chains", complex chains of effects - this means having 2 or 3 fxs in the place of one. The Trinity has a ribbon, ok. But you won't use the ribbon that much - I never feel any need for it.
The build of the keys is certainly different - the synth action of triton le is very soft - if not cheesy. Anyway, if you're used to weighted action, you'll need an 88 key controller - which is a great choice if you use a 61 key synth - and it doesn't cost that much today :)...just save up 300 or more € and you'll find something ^_^.
There's a lot of people who underestimate the power of a triton core inside the le. There's still difference from any other board. Triton is the best.

Thanx for the replies(and the little tutorial:-))!
I worry about trinity's physical duration-i mean:a V3 could have
6-7 years, and a base one up to 9 years...that's a big problem, since
I won't be replacing it that soon...this makes me think of the Triton.
I know, I would miss soooooo much the ribbon-it kills.
Deceit- I'm not classically trained, so I'll go for the simple 61 key one
also, I'd like to mess with some johansson-neoclassical stuff and to me
trying to perform superspeed on weighted keys is impossible...
thanx for the replies guys!!! :D

Why is a synth up to 9 years old a problem? Many people have moogs from back 25 years or more, and Jens himself uses a DX7 that's probably getting on for 20 years old. Just cos something is 9 years old doesn't mean that there's anything wrong with it!

...but the DX7 has always proved somewhat hell of resistant to ANYTHING. It's almost indestructible :).
