Take any colourful block based puzzle game, add a spaceship into an interstellar highway with blocks that come in time with music, then take that music and make it affect the track speed like a rollercoaster, and you have Audiosurf.

Audiosurf is basically a puzzle mixed with a rhythm action game. You race along collecting blocks, or 'cars', to mach them in groups of three or more. Now as simple as this is, it's the actual experience of it. And what you can do that's really special.

You can use your own music collection.

I have played this with many a DT track, including Octavarium, and I'll say it isn't just a game, it's a very visually exciting and veryexhilarating way to appreciate music, as you speed along trying to get high scores to rank high on the worldwide scoretables, you watch as you dip down into high speed at cresendos, slow down for long melody lines, it's fantastic.

Prog music works very well with this game, as does dance, electronic, rock, pop, just about anything, and the algorhythm they use to generate the tracks is very advanced and creates some interesting rhythms within the piece itself.

I'm also finding it useful as a tool to see how visually exciting my music appears compared to others, and it weilds some interesting results, and has even caused me to go back and rethink how a piece should go, helps a lot with building crescendo's properly.

Give the demo a shot at http://www.audio-surf.com/ and if you enjoy it, it's only $10!

Sorry to advertise so blatantly, but I'm being honest about the game here, and it definately appeals to musicians.

AAlso, big hello to Viperk88. You know why.

I totally agree with what SerFox is saying  The game is really awesome and addicting. When I first saw the screenshot I was like "what the heck is this?" but I downloaded the demo anyway and now I will be buying it in a day or two. What would be interesting is playing TDEN on it with all the tempo changes..that would be pretty tough
